Drape-in-a-minute Sarees

Drape- in-a-minute Sarees .... this idea was born out of need, necessity and my passion to go back to my roots. Having worked in the fashion industry in NZ for almost 15 years and then the journey of coming back to live in India, gave me opportunity to explore trends and traditions of fashion back home. I have always been inspired by beautiful prints, fabrics and weaves of an Indian saree. The free flowing and fluid feel of wearing a saree as a piece of art is unmatched to any other garment.

For many years, I have yearned to be able to wear sarees from my lovely collection for all special occasions, festivals & parties …. For my situation, I usually decide on the saree and have it ironed and all-ready to go but at the last minute I have changed my mind and wore something that was less of a hassle. At the same time, during my son’s wedding where I had invited a lot of friends from other cultural backgrounds, it became a huge task to get everyone ready in a saree for the Baraat (there was a huge excitement to wear traditional) on time and it had me thinking… there had to be an easier way out …. I am sure many of you will have felt the same as me!

When I came across the genius idea of pre-draped sarees or pre-stitched sarees, I was in awe! It felt like a brilliant solution to my problems and for all my friends back home in NZ. It fit beautifully without sacrificing the drape and soul of a saree, it was a breakthrough for time and hassle. It took me just one minute to wrap the saree and Voila! …. I felt like a diva in seconds 😊
